We are Pioneers in grid energy generation and storage, innovatively harnessing proven pumped-hydro and geothermal technologies to support the UK’s environmental objectives and deliver a sustainable future energy landscape.
Increasing UK dependency on volatile wind and solar electricity sources
Nuclear investment will take decades to provide a stable ‘base load’ supply
Coal and gas need to be phased out to reach net-zero and self-sufficiency
For electricity grid efficiency and security, need to smooth out demand peaks with distributed energy storage.

In order to overcome grid demand volatility, we at Energy Mine have identified a long term solution.
Underground pumped-hydro closed-system grid energy storage solution to harness disused subterranean spaces,
+ geothermal energy potential.
Minimise visible, audible and environmental impact on areas of natural beauty – toxic risks remain fully underground.
Utilise existing infrastructure.
Transform disused mines to provide 21st century energy security and UK grid stability.
Multiple mid-size 10-50MW energy mines scalable to form a large ‘grid battery’.
Store renewably-generated energy for hours, days, weeks.
DAILY CYCLE
To help reduce demand peaks on the grid, a daily cycle stores energy off-peak at night and releases it during daily peaks. This model would work well for smaller volume mines.
In addition, "Peak Shaving" can be achieved by reducing the peak demand by using this generation/storage.

MULTI DAY, OR LONGER CYCLE
To store renewably generated energy on windy/sunny days then release it back into the grid when needed; perhaps days or weeks later when "Dunkelflaute" conditions existing, i.e. when a period of consecutive days in which low or minimal energy can be generated by renewable energy source such as solar or wind.
This model may work for larger mines.
This would help reduce use coal / gas generated electricity.
